About Us

Purrsonnel:

Pearl Jody Hunsaker-Haller grew up in the country, outside Roanoke, Virginia. A sensitive child, Jody always had no less than 8 dogs and cats in her care (including twin kitties named Putt-Putt and Dutt-Dutt!). In college she refused to live in the dorm because she wouldn't live without her pets.

Over the years she has helped find homes for many strays, including a litter of kittens, goldfish, and a tiny kitten named Monkey, among others. Her background is in film publicity and corporate event planning, which is the reason she has turned to pet sitting. Incidentally, she had been pet sitting for years before she realized that she could do it for a living! Who knew?

Currently Jody lives with 1 pup, 7 fish, 2 aquatic frogs, and 3 cats: the waggish and wiggling, 2 year Pearl, the incredible, wonderful 14-year-old diabetic, Steve, a peculiar but angelic 7-year-old, Elroy, and a sweet curtain-climber, 4, Rudy. Oh, yes, and her ever-loving husband who sometimes wonders if Jody loves "the boys" more than him! No comment.

Pearl Jennifer "Jenn" Currie moved around to several different cities as a child, but has called Austin home since 1991. She grew up with a Pomeranian named Honey Dog and many cats, some unfortunately named after characters in the musical CATS. Once a baby squirrel literally climbed Jenn's pant leg to escape a hungry cat. The squirrel was named Fluffy and lived in her house for two years before moving out to the garage, a.k.a. the bachelor pad.

Jenn's résumé reads like a Lemony Snicket novel littered with mind-numbing marketing jobs, several fun years teaching drama to elementary-age kiddos through the Dougherty Arts School, and a regretful stint in retail management. After two years as a loyal Furry Godmothers client, she was absolutely delighted to join the team.

Jenn's current furry/finned family includes: Marigold, a blond & auburn Persian princess; Kenji, a scrappy Siamese, who was found sans momma-cat at a car lot when she was just three weeks old; and Spike, a geriatric Beta fish who will celebrate his fourth birthday (God willing) in March 2005. She and her husband hope to add a small pup to the mix when they move into a bigger home
